Update - Sept. 30, 2016 From: Rod Cook, Vice President Human Resources, Harry Goslin - President OCEU To: WSIB Employees’ Pension Plan Members Subject: Pension Plan Education Sessions Date: September 30, 2016 The new WSIB Employees’ Pension Plan website (www.wsibepp.ca) is now up and running. We hope that you have had a chance to visit the site, and that it will serve as a helpful resource on the conditional Jointly Sponsored Pension Plan agreement and next steps. For pension plan members no longer actively at work, you will continue to receive regular updates in the mail, as you currently do.
Education Sessions – Registration is Open! The Fall education schedule is now finalized and a list of locations and dates is attached for your reference. You can also find this information online under the registration tab on the pension website. You can register online or, if you do not have internet access, you can call 1-800-387-0750 or TTY 1-800-387-0050 for assistance. If you would like to receive written information in advance of the session, it will be available for download on the website. You can also call to request that information be sent to you. If you are unable to attend a session, a summary video will be available on the pension website in November.
Timelines The JSPP conversion process (see timeline) will include two opportunities for you to attend education sessions. The sessions in October and November of this year will provide an initial review of our current plan, details on the conditional JSPP a0greement and next steps in the process. A second round of education sessions will be scheduled, likely in the second half of 2017, once we have government approval on our pre-conditions regarding solvency funding. Those sessions will include specific information on the consent process and related documentation.
Coming Soon! With the website up and running, we will soon be posting information on a variety of topics to address plan member questions. Information such as the role of the Member Advisory Committee, the Pension Benefits Guarantee Fund and much more will be available over the coming months. For pension plan members no longer actively at work, you will continue to receive regular updates in the mail, as you currently do. Your questions and feedback Thank you for your letters about the JSPP conversion. We continue to use your questions as input while we develop the education session material.
